Restaurant Week India is a flagship culinary event by Cellar Door Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. What makes it stand out? RWI gives you the finest dining experiences across 5 cities, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata & Bangalore, through a three-course prix fixe menu at a fraction of the price you would normally shell out for these luxuries!
It is held twice a year, every March/April and September, simultaneously in these cities, over 10 days. Participating restaurants showcase a specially curated menu for this event for the diners to enjoy a three-course meal. These 10 days celebrate the culinary excellence that each city has to offer for those who manage to grab the opportunity via Restaurant Week India. The last event was held in September 2015 with a participation of 103 restaurants and more than 12,000 on-site diners.
This April, Restaurant Week India features 13 participating restaurants in Chennai. Each restaurant has a set timing to make reservations and as per such preference, lunch costs ₹750 plus taxes (works out to a ₹900 overall) and dinner costs ₹900 plus taxes (that’s approx ₹1080) per diner. The prices vary from city to city. This will be collected when the reservation is made online. It will be fully refunded if the reservation is cancelled 12 hours before the seating time. The reservation can also be switched to another date/time provided you make the change 12 hours before the seating time. Even if the reservations are full, diners can get on a waitlist.
RWI also has an additional concept of Signature Appetisers & Main Courses (additional 100 & 200 respectively in Chennai) which can be added on at the venue, if interested. While making the reservations on the site, they also collect a convenience fee of ₹50, which is nonrefundable.
Being a formal event, RWI diners are expected to dress accordingly. Any direct booking at restaurants is futile as participating restaurants are informed only 12 hours prior to the reservation timing about such booking. Waitlisted diners would get a refund of their meal value with taxes if the booking doesn’t get confirmed.
Restaurant Week India is being held from April 22 – May 1, 2016 this time. The booking for reservations on RWI has already commenced for Ola Prime members while the general public can start booking on the 18th of April from 12PM (Noon) onwards. Ola Prime (the new brand, debuting as the presenting sponsor) is giving all diners complimentary rides (up to ₹150) to and from their meals! This event is even more enticing for those who wanna try out fine dining at some really affordable pricing!
