Back to the season where mangoes are ubiquitously strewn all around the city. How better to celebrate it than with a whole food court singing its glory! Mango Madness at the Forum Vijaya Mall is everything to all those mango addicts. With the selected few Mango dishes from the participating restaurants, all you get is the goodness of mango in many forms, in many dishes with such a diversity in taste as well.
Aam Lassi pronounces Indian Mango celebration like nothing else. The thick yoghurt based drink from Kailash Parbat was everything to quench the summer’s thirst. They also had these uber fluffy fat Aam Ras Poori that was so good! The aloo with the pooris was also absolutely lip smacking.
Pandikadai dished out the awesome Chennai Meen Manga Curry which was oh-so-good with their soft dosas. The fish flavour was intense and with the sour raw mangoes, it was a treat for our South Indian taste buds. They also had a really sweet Mango Kesari.
Mango Pachadi Dosa was another new dish that was captured in this theme by Amaravathi. It was slightly sour and slightly sweet making it a great filling inside a Dosa. Crepes with an Indian soul.
Even Chinese dishes with a mango twist was heeded to here. Wangs Kitchen brought out the Roast Chicken with Mango and Papaya Mango Mania.
The simple and straightforward dessert from Wangs was a hit, the Mango with Vanilla Ice Cream.
Mango Chicken Fried Rice and the Thai Mango Chicken were the mango quirks from Kobe Sizzlers that were extremely unique.
This was the first time I tried ‘Dhishoom’. The Aam Paneer Tikka was so succulent and rich in flavour with subtle Mango hits that were so good and perfectly in sync with the flavour of the Tikka. Yum!
The little additions of Mango to the regular menus is extremely interesting and makes the food court way more appealing. With a galore of juices, desserts, savouries and Indian wholesome goodness, this Mango Madness is on until the 18th of June at the Forum Vijaya Mall, Vadapalani. The king is being celebrated and why wouldn’t it be with such pomp!
